Directions to make Paper Roll Octopus Craft

Begin the craft by painting the Toilet Paper Roll. You can go with red, orange or any colour of your preference. In this tutorial, we’ll be making green and red octopuses.

Before the next step, ensure that the paint is evenly applied and allow it to dry for a few minutes.

Once the paint has dried, draw a line at the centre of the toilet paper roll as a reference point.

Start cutting from one end of the TP roll up to the reference line. Make eight cuts to create the eight tentacles.

Lift each cut section upwards by rolling it. This will give your octopus its characteristic tentacles.

Add the eyes to your octopus. You can use the provided free Eyes template at the end of the post and cut them out.

If you choose not to print anything you can simply draw eyes on paper and cut them out.

Finally, use a black marker to draw a smiling mouth.

Your octopus is now ready! You can make as many as you’d like, using different colours. These octopuses are great for playtime or can be hung from the ceiling to create the illusion of floating in the water.
