Here’s a fun and super quick project we did recently! Transform a simple toilet paper roll into a Leaning Tower of Pisa Craft!

For an added playful touch, include miniature figures posing to support the tilted tower, adding a fun element that children will adore.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of Italy’s most renowned monuments, making this craft a fantastic addition to your Italy-themed studies. Be sure to explore our other Italy activities for kids too!

Materials Needed:

  • Toilet paper roll
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Green cardstock Pen
  • Sharpie marker pen

Instructions:

Take a toilet paper roll and gently flatten it, then slice one end.

Draw horizontal lines on the roll and add arches in each band. Refer to a picture of the bell tower for guidance.

As an optional extra, sketch a small human figurine—either a boy or a girl—sized to fit your thumb.

Paste both the roll and the human figure onto green paper.

You don’t need to adhere the human figure directly next to the tower but instead position it at a distance and angle, creating the illusion of the figure holding the massive structure, much like how people pose for photos at the actual site.

You can also draw the arches using a black marker!

Our 6-year-old who recently visited the monument, enjoyed creating this toilet paper Leaning tower of Pisa!
