Originating in India, Mango proudly holds the title of the National Fruit. Today, I’m excited to guide you through a fun Mango project – creating a Zig Zag Paper Mango Craft using a Free Template.

This Craft is similar to one of our beloved projects, the Paper Plate Rainbow Craft done by folding paper strips in a Zig Zag Fashion! Let’s see how to make them.

Things Needed to Make the Zig Zag Paper Mango Craft

Step by Step-by-step Instructions make the Zig Zag Paper Mango Craft

Let’s start by creating yellow paper strips for the craft. Utilize a paper trimmer to cut strips that are 1cm wide. While scissors can be used, it tends to be a time-consuming process.

Making paper Strips with Paper cutter

Alternatively, you can opt to purchase a pack of Paper strips for this craft.

Download the Free mango template provided at the end of the post and print it on 120 GSM paper. The page contains two mango templates; cut it in half and begin with one template.

The mango template includes horizontal reference lines, serving as a guide for creating the zig-zag pattern. Apply glue to the top segment and start sticking the paper in a zig-zag fashion, folding the strip between the lines.

Once you reach the end, trim the excess.

Repeat the process for the next segment. With practice, kids can easily master this folding style, which is excellent for enhancing fine motor skills.

Continue affixing the papers until the entire mango is covered. Add a brown strip at the top for the mango profile.

Now, cut the mango out. The base outline is slightly visible through the yellow paper. Alternatively, flip the paper over and cut along the mango outline seen from the backside.

Your mango is almost ready. Attach a green leaf made of construction paper to the pedicel, and your zig-zag paper craft is complete.
