Let’s get started with this fun holiday project! Follow these simple steps to create your own Zig Zag Paper Christmas Tree.

Prepare the Paper Strips
Use a paper trimmer to cut paper strips approximately 1 cm wide. While scissors work fine, a paper trimmer will save time and ensure uniform strips. Alternatively, you can use pre-cut paper strips for added convenience.

Download the Free Christmas Tree Template
Download the template provided at the end of this post and print it on 120 GSM paper for better durability. The page includes two tree templates; cut it in half and start with one.

Follow the Zig Zag Pattern Guide
The template features horizontal reference lines to guide your zig-zag pattern. Begin by applying glue to the bottom section of the tree. Attach the paper strip, folding it back and forth between the lines to create the zig-zag effect.

Trim Excess Paper
Once you’ve completed a segment, trim off any excess paper. Move on to the next segment and repeat the process until the entire tree is covered.

Cut Out the Tree
After completing the zig-zag pattern, cut out the tree along the outline. The base outline will still be visible through the patterned paper. Alternatively, flip the paper over and cut along the outline visible on the back.
