Things you will need to make the Paper Weaving Shamrock Craft
- Paper Weaving Shamrock Template (Get it from our Printable Shop)
- Cardstock in any Green shades (for printing and weaving)
- Paper Cutter
- Scissors
- Glue
Directions to make the Paper Weaving Shamrock Craft
Cut the Weaving Strips
Cut 1 cm-wide strips from green cardstock. You can use a single shade or mix various shades of green for a more vibrant look.
You’ll need about 10 strips. Use a paper cutter for precision, or simply cut them with scissors.
Print the Template
Print the Shamrock Weaving Template on sturdy green cardstock. A thickness of at least 175 GSM is recommended to prevent tearing and to make handling easier for kids.
Cut the Template
Using a paper cutter or scissors, carefully cut along the dotted vertical lines on the shamrock template.
Be sure to leave a small gap at the edges so the structure stays intact.
Later, carefully cut along the outer outline of the shamrock to give it a clean, finished shape.
Start Weaving
Take a strip and weave it over and under through the slits in the shamrock template.
Repeat with the next strip, alternating the starting position to create a neat woven pattern.
Continue Weaving
Keep adding strips until the entire shamrock is filled.
Trim any excess strip length that extends beyond the edges. Secure the ends with glue for a firm hold, or leave them loose for a textured look.
