Which Type of Fork is best for kids’ Painting Projects?

Steel, plastic or wooden fork – Any fork will work, but we recommend a steel fork as it is eco-friendly and budget-friendly as it can be washed and reused multiple times.

Directions to make the Fork-Painted Puffer Fish Craft

Prepare Your Materials: Select any colour of paint and pour it onto a flat surface, like a plastic plate. Have a fork ready.

Draw the Base Shape: On an A4 size paper, draw a circle using a compass or a household plate, approximately 20 cm in diameter.

Start Painting: Dip the fork into the paint and press it inside the circle’s circumference to create beautiful fork impressions. Continue this process until the entire circumference is covered.

Fill in the Center: Spread paint in the centre using a fork or even a brush. Over this layer again make fork impressions until it looks like a spiky ball.

Download and print the Template: Get the printable Puffer Fish template at the end of this post by signing up. For best results, print the template on thick paper to prevent it from tearing when paint is applied.

Use the Pufferfish template to cut out 2 eyes, 2 fins (the same colour as the paint), and a black mouth.

Add the Details: Stick the eyes and mouth onto the pufferfish while the paint is still wet. If the paint has dried, use glue.

Attach the fins on either side and roll them slightly upward.

Let It Dry: Once dry, put your colourful pufferfish on display.
