Dussehra (also called Vijayadashami) is a Hindu festival that marks the victory of good over evil. It marks the end of Navratri, a nine-day festival dedicated to the goddess Durga.
How do People celebrate Dussehra?
People across India celebrate Dussehra with various customs. These customs reflect regional diversity but share the central theme of good triumphing over evil. Families celebrate with processions, stage plays, effigy burning, prayers, and festive foods.
When is Dussehra Celebrated?
The exact Date varies every year based on the Hindu Lunisolar calendar and typically occurs in September or October.
In 2025, Dussehra will be celebrated on October 2nd.
