What is a Cornucopia?

A cornucopia is a horn-shaped basket filled with fruits, vegetables, and other foods. It symbolizes abundance, sharing, and thankfulness.

The cornucopia is often used as a decoration during Thanksgiving to remind us of the harvest and the importance of gratitude. Making a cornucopia craft is perfect for children because it helps them learn about these values in a fun, interactive way.

Things Needed to Make the Cornucopia Craft

Directions to Make the Cornucopia Cut and Paste Craft

Step 1: Print the Template
The printable includes a cornucopia base and a set of fruits and vegetables across two pages. You’ll find both colour and black-and-white versions (kids can colour their own if they like!). For best results, print on sturdy paper like cardstock.

Step 2: Cut Out the Pieces
Carefully cut along the edges of each item. Younger kids may need help here, and even if they cut a bit roughly, the craft still looks wonderful.

Step 3: Paste and Create
Glue the fruits and vegetables inside the cornucopia. Kids can arrange them however they like to create their very own “horn of plenty.”

Use the sample image as a guide if needed.

And there you have it! Your finished Cornucopia Craft will be a wonderful decoration or addition to any Thanksgiving-themed project.

Optional: Mount the finished cornucopia on a background sheet for an extra decorative touch.
